Nicky's Op/Ed Uncovering Ties Between the Search Firm Chosen to Lead the 2021 SuperSearch and the National Privatization movement.
Nicky organized a fundraiser with local attorney Igor Raykin to give away gift cards to Colorado educators as a small "thank you!" for their many sacrifices, especially in this Pandemic-impacted school year.
In the Summer of 2019, Nicky organized the Revolutionaries Organizing Communities for Kids (ROCK!) Community Summit, asking community members to choose a progressive slate for the 2019 DPS Board Elections.
Nicky's 2018 campaign for the CO State House focused on many of the same public education goals he continues to work toward, such as making local districts more responsive to communities and authentic partnerships with educators.
Nicky worked with progressive leaders at the Denver and Colorado Democratic Assemblies in 2018 to include a rejection of national privatization advocate Democrats for Education Reform in their respective platforms.
"The DFER resolution came from the Denver County assembly and Nicky Yollick, a candidate for state House District 5. Yollick told the assembly that DFER had threatened to withhold money from Democrats running for re-election, as well as Democrats running for the state Senate, if they signed an anti-DFER petition that circulated in the weeks before the assembly."
For years, Nicky has worked and advocated for campaign finance reforms, particularly in Colorado School Board elections.
